NEW ORLEANS

The month of October meant visiting with Kyle and Jenny of Hot Iron Press in New Orleans, LA, USA. My particular task as assistant this month has been resuscitate the movable lead type from the flooded job cases. Hot Iron Press studio was 5.9 feet under water for several months.

The 5th Annual New Orleans Bookfair, hosted by Barristers Gallery, was on Saturday October 28th, from 10am-6pm. Babylon Lexicon, the artist book exhibition, was a great success, both events shown below. Big thanks to Kyle Bravo, Bookfair coordinator, and Jenny LeBlanc, curator of Babylon Lexicon. Some of the homes that were swept away in the 9th Ward during the levee break after Hurrican Katrina may be seen below. They speak for themselves of the destruction of the area. The remainder of the photos are from our travels around New Orleans and Lafitte, including a lucrative fishing trip and sightseeing about town.
